each of the acanthites we have listed are very interesting in their own way. Nearly every one of them is highly crystallized. Many have extremely distorted xls. Some appeared hoppered. Some have elongated & stretched out xls. This one has both. There are also something that looks like it could be a pseudo after another mineral - perhaps dyscrasite? I don't know. But it is a very interesting piece when examined closely. Ira's Pics show it well.

This piece again is well crystallized and has sharp octahedrons & modified cubes on it. The pics show it well. These are not bright green or red. But to anyone truly interested in minerals they are extremely interesting, This is from the famous find at Imiter in 2005!!! This mine has been producing silver for hundreds of years. It is the largest silver ore body in existence and the oldest silver mine in existence!!

This piece consists of rounded, crude crystals. Like acanthite from all the world famous localities, except Mexico & China, it displays the typical sooty black lustrer caused by oxidation. Although recently (in 2008) there were a very few pcs found at Imiter that had an outstanding luster. Like that of a good silver!! But not many pieces like this were found. This is from the famous find at Imiter in 2005!!!

The piece consists of highly modified acanthite crystals of medium lustre that are stretched and drawn out, making this an interesting pc. There have never been an overabundance of localities that produced xls. of acanthite and the other silver sulfides. Very few of these ever produced shiny lustered pcs. This is from the famous find at Imiter in 2005!!! In my opinion this find has been underated and one day in the future will be a classic just as Freiberg & Schneeberg are today!!

An unbelievable world class mini. Before this find @Imiter, xls. this size were rare. This group has xls. to 2.5 CM W/NO DAMAGE.This find in '05 produced the finest acanthites the world W/ever see. The localities of Eastern Europe which everyone goes gaga about never came close. What would a specimen like this cost frm Schneeberg or Freiberg? Perhaps 3 times the price? This is one of the most underated localities of recent times. Maybe because the specimens are not bright colored or shiny?? Ira's Pics are great!!

This pc. consists of an area at the top, which Ira's pic does not show, that has 2 very sharp and one sharp but slightly distorted acanthite xls. of a medium lustre. And in reality it is the only way to show this pc. because it is impossible to trim acanthite due to its' sectile nature. This is not a bad solution as it does show very nicely this way. At Star's prices for other pcs. frm this find W/sharp xls. it's a steal. I just don't think anyone else saw this as I did!!! This is from the famous find at Imiter in 2005!!! This piece is razor sharp and much, much better in person!

The piece consists of very sharp, typical octahedral acanthite crystals with a medium lustre as shown. This is from the famous find at Imiter in 2005!!! It is very sharp and from any of the oldtime German localities would be much more expensive. A very handsome mini. Remember that Star always gives a nice discount if U spend anything reasonable W/Lena.

The piece consists of pagoda-like clusters of medium lustre, etched octahedral acanthite crystals with a little bit of micro quartz. The acanthite crystals are actually quite sharp!

The piece consists of inter penetrating twins looking like a star drill bit, with matte lustre, acanthite crystals. This is from the famous find at Imiter in 2005!!! This is a fantastic example of a ugly but very rare mineral. The twins are 2.2 cms across,
