One of the notable new finds from the Ste. Marie-aux-Mines 2000 gem & mineral show, were these new Chinese Pyro's. Groups of prismatic crystals with very well defined faces and edges with skeletal terminations, on matrix. Their color and luster are extraordinary, but we bring your attention to their translucency, easily visible under a strong light. These things were around for about 6 months. The locality has now been exhausted and good specimens are becoming difficult to find. |
