This is a super specimen from old America. This mine worked in the middle to late 1800's, this is an old piece !! Take a look at this piece! A Spinel Twin (Not something you see from Michigan, extremely rare), standing straight up with calcite and other sharp copper xtal's. The Mass Mine, was the largest producer in the area. The Mass Mine is a underground copper mine consisting of three shafts adjacent to Mass City, MI. The Mass Mining Co. was organized in 1856 and worked sporadically until 1888, when the mine operations ceased for good. |
